Dodgers offense comes alive in 9-3 win over Cincinnati Reds in home opener at Chavez Ravine

LOS ANGELES (CNS) — The Dodgers’ powerful lineup exploded for six runs in the eighth inning and Los Angeles beat the Cincinnati Reds 9-3 in their home opener Thursday night.

The game was tied 3-3 going into the eighth, but an RBI-single by Trea Turner followed by Will Smith hitting a three-run home run broke the game open. L.A. tacked on two more runs and Cincinnati went away quietly in the ninth to give the Dodgers the win.

Starter Walker Buehler pitched 5.2 innings and gave up two runs, five hits and three walks while striking out four.
