Arkansas River Bridge: Trail derailment slows traffic



A train partially derailed on the Arkansas River Bridge between Sebastian and Crawford County, according to Travis Cooper, Sebastian County Emergency Manager.The incident occurred just past the Train Depot on Highway 59. Officials with the Arkansas-Missouri Railroad called it a minor derailment that caused a backup of the cars across the intersections into Van Buren near Highway 59. It will take several hours to remove the engine with 82 train cars from the intersections and they will have to use specialized equipment to get the engine off the bridge.
